Duplicate deeds

Series includes volumes of duplicate deeds for Merritt, Kamloops and Vancouver. The deeds show property price, legal description, name of deedholder, and date of payment. In some cases, conditions permitting development of properties are described on yellow slips of paper pasted into the books at the sides of the deeds. Each volume is indexed by name of purchaser, which may be obtained from the registers of city lots (Registers of city lots series).

Field note books

Series includes 7 volumes of field notes, which were made by several members of the original survey party and include day-by-day survey notes of location and measurement.

Approval books

Series consists of building plan approval books, which include dates of approval of plans, information on building locations and dimensions, valuations of lots and buildings, estimated building costs, and other information.

Photographs

Series consists of photograph albums depicting the construction of the 1913 C.P.R. terminal and the demolition of the previous terminal, as well as the construction of the Dunsmuir Tunnel, C.P.R. Pier D, the Burrard Street Viaduct, and the C.P.R. railway yards.

Receipts and receipt books

Series includes receipts and receipt books for Granville townsite, District Lot 526 and others. The receipts show name of deed holder as well as deed number, legal description, date of deed (on the right side of the receipt), and date of deed delivery (the date when the property was registered at the Land Titles Office). Receipts are organized in order of deed delivery date, which appear at the bottom of each receipt. The dates for individual properties may be obtained from the registers of city lots (Registers of city lots series).

Registers of city lots

Series includes registers for District Lot 526 and others. These list land purchaser, amount of land purchased, terms of payment, date of deed, and date of delivery of deed (the date when the property was registered at the Land Titles Office). Entries in registers are organized by legal description (e.g. District Lot 526, block 181, lot 4). The registers may be used to locate property receipts (Receipts and receipt book series) and duplicate deeds (Duplicate deeds series). See these series descriptions for further information.
