First Narrows. Proposed Suspension Bridge for Foot Passengers Only

Item consists of an architectural drawing for a proposed footbridge over the First Narrows, with its southern end near Prospect Point. The drawing consists of a plan and elevation of the structure. The sheet also includes a location map showing the span of the bridge in the context of Stanley Park and the North Vancouver shoreline.

There are also photographs of various ships around Vancouver. All photographs have caption hand written below.

File contains a photograph album showing various scenes in Vancouver and surrounding area. There are also many informal photos of W.H. Malkin employees participating in activities such as: baseball, camping, picnics, sailing and fishing. There are also numerous photos of the W.H. Malkin storefront. Pictured in photographs on pages two and three of the album is Ed Jardine according to hand written annotations on loose papers that were slipped into the album. Two photos on page twenty-four were taken by Lennox Studios and are entitled: "Camping at Hollyburn" and "By the Campfire's Glow."

Indian village and museum, Stanley Park

File consists of drawings depicting various buildings designed for an "Indian village" or "Indian museum" to be located in the Lumberman's Arch area of Stanley Park. Five of the drawings are of buildings designed by Henry E.C. Carrey for the Arts, Historical and Scientific Association of British Columbia, who came up with the original idea for a collection of buildings to represent a model First Nations village. When the project failed to garner funding, the Association handed the project off to the Parks Board.

Two later drawings by Parks Board Superintendent A.S. Wooton are for a smaller, single building referred to as an "Indian museum" proposed for the same site.

Item is a promotional film showing the Diamond Jubilee celebration events, a brief history of Vancouver and concludes with footage of Vancouver after 1945. The film shows historical photographs of Vancouver and focuses on various aspects of development in Vancouver including industry, media, communications, transportation, power plants, city planning, city governance, tourism and architecture.

The film was commissioned by the Vancouver Jubilee Publicity Committee and later sponsored by the British Columbia Electric Company Ltd.

This film is a re-print made by the Vancouver Museum in the late 1970's for a program called "Vancouver's Heritage in Film".
