Series consists of records of or pertaining to Octavia Stewart Beaton, arranged into files by Ted Taylor. Correspondents include Ralph Beaton, George Beaton, Bruce Beaton, L.D. Taylor, George Fowler and Ken Taylor. Includes correspondence relating to the death of Mary Beaton Taylor, the birth of Mary Louise Taylor, and Octavia's move to Paris to assist Ted with the care of Mary Louise. The series also contains many letters to and from L.D. Taylor, pertaining to his illness in 1931 and 1932, his activities as Mayor of Vancouver, and the activities of Ted and Ken Taylor. Series also contains an account of a trip to Vancouver and Gilford Island in 1910 and a small amount of material pertaining to Octavia's death. Also included in this series is a diary of Mary Beaton Taylor, dating from 1925. Records includes correspondence, minutes and reports, a diary, poetry, prose, photographs, narrative account, financial records, articles, notes, newspaper clippings, a newsletter, leaflets, pamphlets, programs and notes. Records pertain to family, financial and employment matters for the most part, as well as Octavia's involvement with several organizations, including the Hollywood Woman's Club, the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Red Cross, the British War Relief Association of Southern California and the American Legion Auxiliary in Paris.
