The importance of electrical power and the various uses that the power is necessary for. Andre talks about the yaks and logistics involved in using and budgeting for yaks and negotiating with locals. He also talks about difficulties in dealing with the Chinese liaison officer and the budget in general. Andre also talks about dealing through the CMA [Chinese Mountaineering Association?]. John talks about his symptoms and how he dealt with suffering from some initial symptoms of high altitude pulmonary edema. Also includes wild sound for camera role 46 and 44 or 45. Includes sounds of crampons on ice, ice picks, other tools going into the ice and the sound of clipping carabineers on to ropes, and ambient outdoor sounds of a wheat field and airport.

Sunset Memorial broadcast

Part contains excerpts from the CJOR broadcast of Bing Crosby's 1948 visit to Vancouver, reprised on the eve of the cornerstone laying at the Sunset Memorial Centre. Individuals involved include Bing Crosby (speaker) and Dorwin Baird (reporter). BC Archives created recording by copying Parts 1 and 2 from the original audio disc.

She answers calls about the drug/alcohol/addiction/mental health issues in Vancouver. Rittenhouse talks about the legalization of marijuana. Recording includes some advertisements.

Description on tape case: "Actually this is 2 items, the 1st is 22 min., recorded at the conference on liberation theology at SFU, looking at the Rios Montt govt. and the role of quasi-Pentecostals; the 2nd item is a production from Other Americas Radio (Santa Barbara) on the effect of the military on the Guatemalan Mayas (28 min.)."

Steve Rosell, special asst. to Robert Andras, 1970-1972 [interview]

Item part is a recording of Steve Rosell, who served as special assistant to Canadian politician Robert Andras from 1970 to 1972, as he responds to written questions about the Strathcona Property Owners and Tenants Association, urban planning, policies, and the surrounding politics. The opening of the tape contains clips from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" (Clark Gesner); Steve Rosell begins addressing questions at the 6 min., 25 sec. mark as classical music plays in the background. After Rosell finishes with the questions, the song "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" (Simon & Garfunkel) plays. From the 37 min., 57 sec. mark to the end of the tape is silent.

The tape also features a commentary with Ramona Mar, a skit, and a segment about foreign students studying at post secondary institutions in Canada. Some contents of the tape were used on Pender Guy Program 234.
