1929 TT [Ted Taylor]

File consists of a newspaper clipping concerning L.D. Taylor and George Fowler's trip to Los Angeles in May 1929, and a newspaper clipping and legal document relating to the withdrawal of Ted and Ken Taylor from a partnership in the Radio Program Service.

1942 TT [Ted Taylor]

File consists of Ted Taylor personal and professional correspondence, financial records, notes, a partial appointment book, studio passes, cards, newspaper clippings, ephemera and other material. Includes correspondence with L.D. Taylor, Mary Louise Taylor, Ken Taylor, Octavia Beaton and Vincent Sheean. File also contains newspaper clippings concerning L.D., and invoices and correspondence pertaining to Ted's work for the Screen Publicists Guild.

[1920, 1927 - Ted Taylor]

File consists of a copy of the "Mouth Organ" and related correspondence concerning Ted Taylor's activities as it's editor, a sketch of Taylor, and a birthday poem from Ken Taylor containing three photographs on one sheet of photographic paper.

File consists of Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence and notes, financial records and receipts, newsletter, cards, address book pages, war ration book, postcards, a photograph, objectss and other material. File also contains Mary Louise Taylor correspondence and correspondence with Ken Taylor and L.D. Taylor, which includes several letters from L.D. and attached newspaper clippings. Ted Taylor outgoing correspondence discusses family activities, his career, including work with the War Labor Board, and the Hollywood strike. File also contains a draft review of a Leonard Louis Levinson production and related correspondence. Other records within this file relate to Ted's association with the Central Labor Council, the Los Angeles Newspaper Guild and the Screen Publicists Guild. File also contains a photograph in a Christmas card of Edith and Arthur Baker. Objects in this file are badges from Ken Taylor's military uniform, a Nazi badge and a yellow Star of David badge bearing the German word 'Jude'.

[L.D. Taylor - copied material, circa 1926 to 1946]

File consists of copies of letters, news articles and photographs relating to L.D. Taylor, possibly provided to Ted Taylor by Vancouver City Archivist J.S. Matthews. Includes a 1932 letter to L.D. from Franklin D. Roosevelt, Matthews' notes regarding his visit with Ted and Ken Taylor in June 1946, an excerpt from Matthews' obituary for L.D., and some historical notes related to Alice Berry Taylor. File also includes photocopies of CVA 1477-107 and CVA 1477-108, a photograph of L.D. Taylor with Amelia Earhart and a few other men on the court house stairs, and a photograph of L.D. standing with some pilots and holding a child wearing an American flag costume.

File consists of correspondence, three photographs, notes and a poem. Includes a letter from L.D. Taylor to Ted Taylor discussing his decision to run for the Provincial Legislature in Omineca. Included with the letter are three postcards featuring photographs of the Douglas Lodge, B.C. area and Spuzzum. B.C.

File consists of records relating to the illness and death of L.D. Taylor, Ken and Ted's resulting trip to Vancouver, and funeral arrangements. Includes correspondence, copies of newspaper articles, a will, lists, notes, four photographs, cards, receipts, a postcard and other material. Includes L.D.'s last will and testament, correspondence to him during his illness, including a wire from Vancouver Mayor John Cornett, a list of pallbearers, sympathy cards, copies of thank you letters to those involved in the funeral ceremony, and copies of newspaper articles concerning L.D.'s death and funeral. File also contains a copy of a letter and related newspaper clipping concerning the donation of a portrait of L.D. Taylor to the Vancouver City Council. Also included in the file are Ted's notes regarding Alice Berry Taylor, events in L.D.'s life, Ken and Ted's activities while in Vancouver, and Ted's work for the Conference of Studio Unions Strategy Committee. Other items in the file include an invitation from L.D. to enrol as a subscriber to his publication "The New Deal," a small booklet advertising The Scenery Shop at 856 Granville Street, a Butchart's Garden postcard, three photographs of Ken and Ted in Vancouver and a photograph of Peter Taylor.

L.D.T. [L.D. Taylor] - B-C Bank, Vancouver [and correspondence]

File consists of correspondence, financial records, newspaper articles, three newspapers and a leaflet. Includes correspondence between L.D. and Ted Taylor. L.D.'s letters discuss his plans to run in the 1936 Vancouver mayoral election and his opinion of the current mayor, his defeat in the election, and his publication of "The New Deal" newspaper in 1937. Ted's letters discuss his positions with the "Hollywood Reporter" and Columbia Pictures and outline family activities. The file also contains the first three issues of "The New Deal," March 26, April 2 and April 9, 1937; copies of Ted Taylor articles sent to L.D. for inclusion in the paper; records for a joint Bank of Montreal account between Ted and L.D.; and a Greater B.C. Association leaflet.

Series consists of Ted Taylor correspondence and other records arranged by Ted into chronological and subject files. Records pertain to Ted s personal and professional activities, and concern his relationships with family members, his marriages, friendships, involvement with various associations, and his career as a Hollywood publicist and journalist, including his work at Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures and Universal Pictures studios. The series also includes several subject files pertaining to L.D. Taylor. Although the majority of records in the series were created or received by Ted Taylor, the series also includes some records of Caroline Little Pierce, Annie Louise Taylor, Octavia Beaton, Mary Louise Taylor and Osborne J. Pierce. In addition to correspondence, the series includes photographs, notes, legal documents, financial records, agreements, journals, articles, press releases, notebooks, appointment books, address books, drawings, paintings, scripts, newspaper clippings, newsletters and other publications, studio passes, programs, cards, ephemera and objects.

Sousfonds consists of correspondence, photographs and other records of Ted Taylor and members of the Taylor, Pierce and Beaton families, arranged into files by Ted. The majority of records were created or accumulated by Ted, and pertain to his personal and professional activities. Records concern his relationships with family, friends and colleagues, his career as a publicist and reporter in Hollywood, California and Paris, France, and his involvement in various associations. In addition to Ted s records, the sousfonds also contains records of and pertaining to Octavia Beaton, Mary Beaton, Mary Louise Taylor, Ken Taylor, L.D. Taylor, Annie Louise Taylor, Caroline Little Pierce, Winifred Mabel Pierce and Osborne J. Pierce. Material pertaining to L.D. Taylor includes correspondence with various members of the family, photographs, and notes concerning L.D. s activities in Vancouver, as Mayor, and his death and funeral. In addition to correspondence and photographs, record include notes, newspaper clippings, articles, drafts, notebooks, address books, journals, studio passes, cards, drawings, paintings, sketches, press release, publications, scripts, ephemera, legal documents, bills, receipts and other financial records, postcards, agreements and contracts, and objects.

Series consists of records pertaining to Osborne J. and Caroline Little Pierces' finances, in particular their real estate and stock investments. Real estate records include property deeds, options, agreements for sale, and other legal documents, as well as correspondence, notes, invoices, receipts and drawings. Records relating to stock investments in the Los Angeles Investment Company include account statements, agreements, receipts and other documents, newsletters, newspaper clippings, a semi-annual report and a book. The series also includes some records relating to Annie Louise Taylor's investment in the Company. In addition, the series includes government documents, legal documents, correspondence and newspaper clippings pertaining to the disbursement of Osborne's estate and pension, and notes made by Caroline concerning her estate.

1862-65 Civil War

File consists of Osborne J. Pierce's certificates of appointment to Corporal in Company G of the 24th Regiment of Maine Militia, September 10, 1862, and to Sergeant Major of the 24th Regiment of Maine Volunteers, April 13, 1863, as well as an outline of his Civil War Service, an autobiographical prose piece titled "Twenty Five Years Ago! By a Veteran Soldier," and a poem titled "A Soldiers Return," all authored by Pierce.

Osborne J. Pierce American Civil War records

Series consists of a diary (1862-1863), two certificates of appointment, a photograph and autobiographical writings relating to Osborne J. Pierce's experiences as a member of Company G of the 24th Regiment of the Maine Militia, the 24th Regiment of Maine Volunteers, and the 7th Maine Battery during the American Civil War.
