The fonds contains records documenting the administration and operations of City Stage, including choosing and developing projects, managing the theatre's facilities, obtaining grant funding from public and private bodies, promoting productions, liaison with the press and other production companies, and production of plays. The fonds also includes records which document Michal's career before and after City Stage, some of which are inter-filed with City Stage records.

The fonds includes a wide variety of business records, such as leases, correspondence, and financial reports; production records such as annotated copies of scripts, prop lists, stage layout designs, and cast photographs; and promotional records, such as press releases and press clippings.

The City of Vancouver Archives documentary art collection consists of visual art works relating to the social, political, cultural and artistic history of Vancouver. The works in the City of Vancouver Archives documentary art collection are differentiated from other categories of art by their emphasis on factual, objective representation rather than conceptual or interpretive representation. The fonds contains three 16 mm films of the 1958 Chinatown Dragon Parade, the 1960 Chinatown Parade, and Miss Chinatown pageant 1960. Also included in the fonds are photographs relating to the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s participation in the 1959 Pacific National Exhibition (PNE); the 18th Convention of the Canadian Food Processors Association and Parade of Oriental Fashions, 1965; the Year of the Serpent Chinese New Year Festival Banquet, 1965; and the C. Itoh & Co. reception at the Bayshore Inn on December 21, 1966, all arranged into albums. The fonds also includes slides of construction in the 800 block Thurlow Street, circa 1957; the Middle Arm Bridge (Moray Bridge), May 31, 1957; the Royal Visit and the opening of the Deas Island Tunnel, July 1959; a Chow Mein Tea at the Pender YMCA, September 25, 1959; Fashion Parades, February 1960; and a staff Christmas party at Trader Vic’s in 1969. Additional photographs document an event at the Chinese Consulate, circa 1960; UBC student parties in 1953 and 1954; as well as Royal Bank staff parties 1981 to 1997 and Chinese New Year celebrations in 1991. Fonds consists of films photographed and collected by Douglas Scott, predominantly documenting his time living in Hong Kong (China), Victoria (B.C.), and Kamloops (B.C.). The majority of the films document the life of an expatriate family in Hong Kong during the interwar period, rural and urban Hong Kong, and later life in Victoria. Subjects include Scott's first wife, Margaret Scott, and daughter, also named Margaret, as well as boats and ships, the ocean, gardens, and examples of the film medium. Some films appear to document Scott's work with the Texas Company (Texaco), the British America Paint Company (Bapco), the Far East Aviation Co., and his own photography supply business (Scott Camera Co.) in Victoria. The films capture a number of noteworthy events, such as the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Victoria in 1939, King George V's Silver Jubilee parade in Hong Kong in 1935, and construction of the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster (B.C.).
