Eric's video

Item is a videocassette containing the program entitled Eric's Video. The video deals with discrimination against people with HIV and AIDS and discrimination based on sexuality. The video consists of a series of interviews with Rick Waynes, Dinetia Johnson, David, Kenna Fair, Carolyn, Zachery Longboy, Lucy Falkner and Judy Lynne. The interviews were conducted by Michael Andaluz and Peter Stebbings.
Funding and support for the video was provided by Vancouver Health Department, the Health Promotion Directorate Health Services Branch, Health and Welfare Canada through the National AIDS Education Contribution Program. The National Film Board provided facilities assistance.

Erin [birthday party]

Item is a film showing the birthday party of [Erin, the baby] at a house, parents drinking champagne, guests arriving, kids arriving with birthday presents, guest eating in yard. Ernie and Eva's Wedding

Item is a home movie of a wedding. A bride and groom speak in front of what appear to be wedding presents. They are filmed leaving the house with the family while someone sets off fireworks before they all drive to the ceremony. Part of the ceremony in the church is filmed before the family is again pictured leaving and arriving at the reception hall. The bride and groom pose for photographs before the reception. There is a reception line followed by clips of speeches, dancing and socializing.

Evening edition - Asia festival

Item is a video of a KCT Seattle 9 Evening Edition report by Victoria Fung on the first Asia Pacific Festival cultural fair in Vancouver (B.C.). In her report, Fung covers the various performing arts, crafts, foods, and fashion of the Pacific Rim nations showcased at the fair. In addition to footage of the fair, the report also includes interviews with Vancouver Mayor Michael Harcourt, Asia Pacific Festival Executive Producer Stuart Backerman, Asia Pacific Festival Board Member Howard Mann, Vancouver Alderman Bill Yee, and various attendees.

Item is the master version of the film "Everest - Climb For Hope;" a documentary following a Canadian team of climbers raising money for research and awareness about Rett Syndrome by climbing Mount Everest. Ernie Sneidzins is the father of a young teenager suffering from Rett Syndrome, it was his determination to do something that set this expedition in motion. Includes an interview with Ernie [Erwin] Sniedzins about the origins of "The Climb for Hope," its beginnings in 1986, Rett Syndrome the disease and its effect on the Sniedzins family, and he compares climbing Mount Everest to tackling the challenges of Rett Syndrome. There is also scenes of Sniedzins walking in the park with his daughter, Sarah, who suffers from Rett Syndrome.

Everest - Climb for Hope team members walking along a road beside a river, past a small settlement, through mud, past an avalanche of rocks, includes shots of more rocks falling off the cliff onto the pathway, team members and Sherpas/porters following the first group through the danger area of falling rocks, team members pass another village and interact with local children, scenes of a river or stream being forged, packs being loaded onto a van, an immigration office on the road, Sherpas carry a large and heavy box up a steep path, Alan, an ex-American world-class gymnast carries the 250 lb box a few meters. Team members and their gear are assembled in a building, locals gather around at the Zhang Mu Hotel, negotiations are made with a translator to hire Sherpas to carry gear, some Chinese [?] officials can be seen, the line-up of those waiting for work hold on to each other to eliminate the ability for anyone to cut in line [?] or jump the queue, shots of the Sherpas with heavy pack walking away from the Zhang Mu Hotel and more negotiations with the translator near the truck where the supplies are being loaded.
