Item is a documentary film entitled "Energy Packed: the Story of Cane Sugar," presented by B.C. Sugar Refining Company and directed/produced by Lloyd Stump. The film, originally shot in 1975, documents the process by which consumer sugar products, such as white sugar, brown sugar, syrup, sugar cubes, and sucrose, are made, starting from the growth and harvest of sugar cane and ending with the packaging of final products.

It contains an episode of a community access program broadcast on Rogers community 4, Surry in 1993 called ?PeopleLink? which appears to focus on the contributions of individuals to the local community to support the submission. This episode, hosted by Archie Miller, uses exposition from the host, interview segments with Mr. Winter, and interviews with people he worked with to discuss his life, work, and primarily his contributions to the community.

The narrative follows a cross-country skier not prepared for an emergency situation and a snowmobiler who is prepared and able to keep himself comfortable until help arrives. The skier is rescued and treated for hypothermia by a group of cross-country skiers who are knowledgeable regarding proper first aid. In 1970, Keith Rodan began to create a series of "S" films of which this film, featuring an urban landscape and images of space, is the first. Rodan developed a form of camera animation achieved by filming still photographs and connecting them (by dissolves) into textured and kinetic compositions. He used home-constructed equiptment and composed each film in the series one frame at a time. This technique, as he described it, was "montage and collage combined." The kinetics were activated by the use of zoom and pan, multiple superimpositions (instilling texture), and chains of short dissolves that combined increments of movement into fluid processes. Rodan created five "S" films between 1970 and 1971. The subject matter he used varied from urban landscapes and technology to fashion model photographs and 17th- and 18th-century English and Dutch paintings.

Film was a theatrical short produced for the 20th Anniversary of the Canadian Forces Air Demonstration Squadron, The Snowbirds. Yaletown Productions obtained distribution for the film across Canada; it played in theatres as a short before the Demi Moore feature film "Mortal Thoughts" (1991).
