Vancouver Rowing Club fonds

The fonds consists of annual general and executive meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, reference material from associated organizations such as the Rowing Committee of the British Empire and Commonwealth Games Society (1954), memorabilia, publications, scrapbooks and photographs. The Vancouver Rowing Club deliberately documented its activities and its members' participation in sporting events as well as their contribution to the larger community, creating historical notes and statistics, as well as the scrapbook collections of newspaper clippings. The fonds includes transcriptions of original material made by John Arthur Carver for his book "The Vancouver Rowing Club: A History 1886-1980", Vancouver: A.F. Roberts, 1980 (available for viewing in C.V.A. Book Collection, call number GV 798.C37).
