Description on tape case: "In 1980, Dr. Chris Giannou, a Canadian medical doctor started work for the Palestine Red Crescent Society (the Palestinian equivalent of the Canadian Red Cross). In October of 1985, he began work at Shatila Hospital in Beirut. During his 27 month stay at Shatila refugee camp, under continuous siege and fire, Dr. Giannou and his team performed hundreds of major operations with limited medical supplies and little or no electricity. On May 9th, four months after leaving Beirut, Giannou came to Vancouver to talk about his experiences."
