City of Vancouver [park sites June/80]

Map is a City Engineering Department base map of Vancouver, with parks hand-coloured in green. Shows city blocks and Canadian Pacific, Canadian National and Great Northern Railway lines. Golf courses, hospitals, schools, theatres and other structures are identified. "Metric Vancouver" and "Guide Map 15" appear in the bottom right corner of the map.

Item is a copy of sections of a November 1889 fire insurance map that have been pieced together. Includes the area between Seymour and Dunlevy Streets, from the south shore of the Burrard Inlet to Keefer Street. Map shows Chinatown, part of False Creek, and buildings and their uses (commercial, residential, industrial). The name of the business, business owner, or type of business is noted for most commercial and industrial buildings.

Item is an annotated photocopy of a map of Chinatown showing streets, buildings and the number of stories in each building. Includes the area bounded by Taylor Street, Hastings Street, Gore Avenue and Keefer Street. The Provincial Historic Site Boundary, designated February 2, 1971, is drawn and indicated on the map. Notations pertaining to the boundary and the indication of the number of stories in each building appear on the map.

Item is a map compiled and drawn by J.S. Matthews, City Archivist showing historic place names of Vancouver and the North Shore and listing some historic Burnaby names. A note in the bottom left hand corner reads: "Memorada. The precise location of "Albert City" is unknown, Narveaz was first; 150 years passed before his name was given to a landmark. His vessel's name "Santa Saturnina" has never been applied to anything at all."

Commercial map of Greater Vancouver and district [assessment districts]

Item is a printed map of greater Vancouver which has been used as a base map. The base map is the 1924 version of the Commercial Map of Greater Vancouver and District. On this copy has been drawn the boundaries of districts, numbered 1-12; inside the drawn boundaries are each district's area in acrea, population and assessed value of property. While the base map is of the pre-amalgamation municipalities, the assessment districts (?) cover the entire post-amalgamation extent of Vancouver.

Item is a map sheet containing two maps. The principal map depicts greater Vancouver, including portions of North and West Vancouver, Richmond and Surrey. The information depicted on the map includes streets, postal blocks, streetcar and railway lines, parks and golf courses, and schools. The map includes 1/2 mile distance circles centred on old City Hall at Main and Hastings.

The sheet includes an inset map of Granville Island. Depth of water given along shorelines of Burrard Inlet, English Bay, and along the West Vancouver coast from First Narrows to Howe Sound. The sheet includes an index of streets.

Item is a map of the Town of Granville, Burrard Inlet, B.C., including the area north of Hastings Street between Cambie and Carrall streets, including lots designated for what became fill lands north of Water Street. Crown grants and government reserve lots are noted. This map is appears to be a copy made from the tracing MAP 978. Note that map is oriented to the south.

Item is a reproduction of a map which depicts North America, South America and the West Indies. An inset map on the lower left-hand corner shows Baffin Island and Hudson's Bay. The item also includes lists of islands and regions in the Americas belonging to each of Great Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark and the Dutch, as per the terms of the Treaty of Paris. The item also includes a list of nine relevant articles defined in the 1763 Paris treaty.
