Family 1919 Jan-Feb

File consists of correspondence, notebooks, photographs, postcards, newspaper clippings and other material relating to the activities of Ted Taylor, Caroline Little Pierce, Winifred Mabel Pierce and Ruth Wing. File includes correspondence, medical bills, and notes relating to Winifred's illness and treatment in Rochester, Minnesota. File also contains two notebooks and twelve photographs (CVA 1477-1005 to CVA 1477-1016) relating to Ted Taylor's work for the L.A. Times, possibly as a crime reporter. Also included in the file are Ted's correspondence and related photographs, photographic prints and negatives of Ted and his friends at Crestmount and at the beach (CVA 1477-1132, CVA 1477-1320 to CVA 1477-1356), and a newspaper clipping concerning Ruth Wing. File contains several postcards from Rochester, Minnesota.

Family 1923 Jr-Ap [January to April]

File consists of correspondence, notes, financial records, four photographs, lists, address book pages, newspaper clippings, articles, a script and other material relating mainly to the personal and professional activities of Ted Taylor. Personal correspondents of Ted include Ruth Wing, Annie Louise Taylor and various friends. Professional correspondence relates to his positions in the Publicity Department of Goldwyn picturess and as Motion Picture Editor at the L.A. Record, and includes correspondence with colleagues at various Hollywood studios and publications. Includes letters from Ferdinand Earle pertaining to his intention to produce a screen version of "Faust" and Mary Pickford's intention to do the same, as well as letters concerning his dealings with David O. Selznick. The file also contains records relating to Ted's dismissal as the editor of "CAMERA!"; clippings of articles by or pertaining to Ted Taylor; and clippings, correspondence and other material relating to Ted's assignment by Goldwyn to be on location for Eric von Stroheim's production of "McTeague." Also included in the file are three photographs of Ruth and one photograph of Ted, Ted's notes relating to his marriage to Ruth and her activities, and a script by Ruth Kenyon.

Includes mainly the personal and professional correspondence of Ted Taylor. Personal correspondence consists of letters to and from friends and family, including correspondence with Annie Louise Taylor, Ken Taylor, Caroline Little Pierce, Ruth Wing, William Wing, George Beaton, Bruce Beaton, and a letter to L.D. Taylor. Also included are letters from Octavia Beaton to Annie and incoming correspondence of Carolyn Little Pierce. Letters from Ruth Wing discuss goings-on in the Hollywood film industry and the re-opening of the William Taylor murder case. Professional correspondents include Howard Strickling, Metro-Goldwyn Pictures and Tom Reed of Universal Pictures. The file also contains clippings of newspaper articles concerning L.D. Taylor and Ted Taylor, six photographs of Mary Louise Taylor, two photographs of Ruth Wing (CVA 1477-1231 and CVA 1477-1232), and cards from Edith Millicent Ryan and Jackie Coogan.

Family 1928 jl-nv [July to November]

File consists of Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence, fifteen photographs, notes, lists, receipts, writings, newspaper clippings, postcards, cards, and other material. Includes correspondence between Ted Taylor and Octavia Beaton, L.D. Taylor, Ken Taylor, Annie Louise Taylor, Ruth Wing, Ralph Beaton and various friends. Correspondence related to L.D. Taylor Includes a letter from L.D. to Ted discussing the Lennie Commission, a letter from L.D. to Octavia describing his propeller injury, and a letter from Ted to Ralph discussing L.D.'s loss in the civic election. The file also contains several newspaper clippings pertaining to L.D. and to Ted's visit to Vancouver. Also included in the file are notes and an account of Ted's voyage from France to the U.S. aboard a cargo vessel, his stay in New York and Ohio, and travel to Vancouver. The file also includes notes and a detailed account of Ted's stay in Vancouver, October 19th to 28th, and L.D.'s daily activities during the visit, as well as notes pertaining to Ted's activities upon his return to Hollywood and possible employment opportunities. Included among the photographs are two photographs of Ted taken in Paris, four photographs of Mary Louise Taylor and five photographs of Mary Louise with George Beaton.

File consists of Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence, professional notes, studio passes and receipts, and Octavia Beaton correspondence. Includes Ted's correspondence to and from L.D. Taylor, and two letters from George J. Fowler to Octavia concerning L.D.'s illness.

1916 G.A.-O.S. Beaton, [trip to] Silverton, Col. - mining [and Canada and San Francisco]

File consists of Octavia Beaton correspondence and a narrrative account. Includes a letter to friends concerning the trip she took with George and Mary Beaton to Colorado in September 1916, and a forty-five page narrative describing a trip across Canada, from the east to the west coast, and then down to San Francisco. The narrative contains descriptions of several places in British Columbia, and includes impressions of the Hotel Vancouver, Stanley Park and the differences between Victoria and Vancouver. The file also contains correspondence pertaining to Beaton's studies with the College of Divine Science and her resignation as President of the Woman's Guild of the Church of the Ascension in Buffalo, New York.

1926 Beaton

File consists of Octavia Beaton correspondence, including a letter from Bruce Beaton, outgoing correspondence to friends describing Paris and the death of Mary Beaton Taylor, an American Church of Paris program and an American Hospital of Paris identification card.

Series consists of Ted Taylor's photographs that were not arranged into files. Includes photographs of Ted Taylor, Ken Taylor, Mary Louise Taylor, Peter Taylor, Bruce Beaton, Marianne Wing, pilot Lucy Wallingford, Bea[trice?] Lee, and 5301 Lexington Avenue, Los Angeles.

Taylor, Theodore Pierce

[Scrapbook 1918-1924]

File consists of loose pages containing correspondence, photographs, articles, clippings, cards and other material, arranged as a scrapbook. Material relates to Ted Taylor's professional activities between 1918 and 1924, in particular to his positions as the News Director at Metro Pictures Corporation and a member of the Goldwyn Pictures publicity staff. File contains many clippings of articles pertaining to Ted, as well as the formation of the Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers (WAMPAS), Affiliated Picture Interests and Studio Publicists' Association, and Ted's involvement with these associations. The file also includes copies of Ted's "Metro News" articles and press releases, weekly timelines of events at Metro in 1919 and 1920, invitations to motion picture events, a list of studio publicity representatives in 1920, correspondence with publicists representing various studios, and material relating to "Rubaiyat" publicity and his resignation from Metro.

The file also includes correspondence between Ted and Louis Victor Eytinge and Alla Nazimova, and a letter from Stan Laurel. Some of Ted's correspondence concerns William Desmond Taylor, events occurring at the Goldwyn and Metro studios and in the Hollywood motion picture industry.

In addition to some photographs of Ted Taylor, members of the Metro publicity and L.A. Times staff, the file contains many photographs of Metro actors, actresses and sets, including several taken by Ted. Included are photographs of John H. Ince, Henry Otto, Emmy Whelen, Viola Dana, May Allison, John Arnold, Ormer Locklear, Alla Nazimova, Fred Malatesta, A.H. Giebler, Bessie Love, Herbert Blache, D.F. McSweeney, Thomas Meighan, Edwin Schneider, John McCormack, Bert Lytell, M.E. McLoughlin, Eileen Percy, Alson M. Wheeler, Winchell Smith, Alice Lake, Antonio Moreno, Bayard Veiller, Marcus Loew, Richard A. Roland, Irving Ackerman, Sam Harris, W.E. Atkinson, David Warfield, Sid Grauman, Vincente Blasco Ibanez, June Mathis, Eric Worthington, Carmel Myers, Isadore Bernstein, Hope Hampton, William J. Burns, a possible photograph of Louis Victor Eytinge and a photograph of a sketch by Rex Ingram.
The file also contains a photo of the WAMPAS Baby Stars of 1922, comprised of Pauline Starke, Maryon Aye, Jacqueline Logan, Claire Windsor, Colleen Moore, Lila Lee, Lois Wilson, Mary Philbin, Patsy Ruth Miller, Bessie Love, Louise Lorraine, Helen Ferguson, Kathryn McGuire. Also included in the file are photographs taken on the set of "The Microbe," "Fools and Their Money," "One-Thing-At-a-Time O'Day," "Please Get Married," "The Hope," and realting to
a showing of the movie "Alias Jimmy Valentine" at the Arizona State Prison.
