Osborne J. Pierce and Caroline Little Pierce financial and investment records

Series consists of records pertaining to Osborne J. and Caroline Little Pierces' finances, in particular their real estate and stock investments. Real estate records include property deeds, options, agreements for sale, and other legal documents, as well as correspondence, notes, invoices, receipts and drawings. Records relating to stock investments in the Los Angeles Investment Company include account statements, agreements, receipts and other documents, newsletters, newspaper clippings, a semi-annual report and a book. The series also includes some records relating to Annie Louise Taylor's investment in the Company. In addition, the series includes government documents, legal documents, correspondence and newspaper clippings pertaining to the disbursement of Osborne's estate and pension, and notes made by Caroline concerning her estate.

File also contains a letter from L.D. Taylor in Vancouver to Caroline Little Pierce, dated January 29, 1899. Included also are Winifred Mabel Pierce's teaching certificate and a letter of appointment; invitations and responses for Annie Louise Pierce's marriage to L.D. Taylor; a pamphlet and a ribbon related to Osborne J. Pierce's role as Sergrant-at-Arms at the National Democratic Convention in 1892; material relating to the World's Fair in St. Louis in 1892 and World's Columbian Exposition in 1893; "Home Making" articles in "Saturday Evening Herald" in Chicago by Osborne J. Pierce; postcards; and sketches.

Correspondence and subject files

Series consists of files of records accumulated by L.D. Taylor pertaining to his activities as Mayor, political affairs, issues, and events in Vancouver, his business interests and activities, his property holdings, his family and friends, and his personal activities and interests. The series includes mayoral correspondence files for the years 1910 to 1911, arranged alphabetically. Other correspondence includes letters from Ted and Ken Taylor and other family members pertaining to their careers and activities. Files organized according to subject pertain to issues that Taylor dealt with in his political career, such as the single tax, policing, unions, water supply, False Creek lands, and bridges; his business interests; and his personal and family life. Some files contain notes made by Ted Taylor after L.D.'s death.

Document types include correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, contracts, leases and other legal and financial documents, election material, reports, political cartoons, date books, note books, and ephemera.

File includes correspondence between Osborne J. Pierce and Caroline Little Pierce, Winifred Mabel Pierce's letters to her parents, and other incoming correspondence to Caroline Little Pierce. Also included are Osborne J. Pierce's cheque book and newspaper clippings.
