Jr-My [January-May] 1944 TT [Ted Taylor]

File consists of Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence, financial records, two photographs, drafts of writings, notes, minutes, newspaper clippings, cards and other records. File includes several letters to L.D. Taylor and from L.D. to Ted and Ken Taylor. Some letters include newspaper clippings pertaining to L.D. L.D.'s letters also include some discussion of provincial politics, his plans for the development of northern British Columbia, his desire to travel to the Peace River area, and the potential annexation of part of Canada to the U.S. Ted's letters discuss work, family activities and the birth of Mary Louise Taylor's son Peter. File also includes some Octavia Beaton correspondence.

Taylor, including letters regarding Ted's employment situation and his new publication "Hollywood Movies," as well as L.D.'s view of world events and Gerald (Gerry) McGeer's campaign for a seat in the House of Commons.

Correspondence relates to family, financial and employment matters and the effect of the Depression on the Beaton and Taylor families. Includes correspondence with relatives and friends, including letters to L.D. Taylor and a letter from L.D. discussing his intention to run in Ominica as an independent candidate for the provincial legislature. Photograph is a studio portrait of an unidentified young man.

File consists of a Christmas card from L.D. Taylor, correspondence and a statement of personal information pertaining to Octavia Beaton's claim for a state pension and a letter pertaining to funeral arrangements for Octavia Beaton.

File includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, an election pamphlet and address relating to Taylor's campaign for the position of alderman, financial receipts, lists and a souvenir program for the "Coronation Torchlight Tattoo and Military Display by 1st Veteran's Battalion, July 1st, 1937." File also includes draft newspaper articles by Taylor and entire issues of The New Deal, Vol. 1, No. 2 (April 2, 1937) and Vol. 1, No. 37 (December 3, 1937), as well as partial issues for April 16, April 30, and May 7.

Family 1921

File consists of correspondence, articles, newspaper clippings, bills and receipts, lists, eight negatives, eleven prints, cards, programs, sketches and other material relating mainly to the personal and professional activities of Ted Taylor. Includes eight photographs taken during Ted and Ruth Wing's honeymoon at Catalina (CVA 1477-1175 to CVA 1477-1182), and photographs of Ruth (CVA 1477-1183), Ted and Ruth (CVA 1477-1186), Caroline Little Pierce (CVA 1477-1190) and Marion Pierce (CVA 1477-1184). File also contains articles by Ted Taylor and many newspaper clippings relating to his marriage to Ruth and his appointment as treasurer of the "Committee of 14," which was created to fight censorship in the motion picture industry. In addition to professional correspondence, the, file also contains Ted's correspondence with Caroline, Ruth and Annie Louise Taylor.

File consists of correspondence, financial records and receipts, legal documents, notes, seventeen photographs, theatrical scripts, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, cards and ephemera pertaining to the personal and professional activities of Ted Taylor, his family and friends. Ted Taylor's professional correspondence includes letters from various colleagues; individuals such as Thomas H. Ince, Edith M. Ryan concerning actress Louise Fazenda, Phil Rosen, J. Stuart Blackton, Harry A. Fischbeck, Jack Jungmeyer, Sidney Olcott, Tom Gallery and Hugh Blair (with attached photograph CVA 1477-1212); and production companies The UFA Films, Inc., Jackie Coogan Productions Inc. and Warner Bros. Pictures Inc. The file also contains a letter to Ted Taylor from Leo A. Moran accompanied by thirteen photographs of child star Priscilla Moran (CVA 1477-1199 to CVA 1447-1211).
Also included in the file are newspaper clippings and notes pertaining to an investigation into a complaint filed by Mary Beaton and Ted Taylor against the Screen Artists' Production Association, a legal writ of attachment from Leo H. Zide to Mary Beaton, et al., a list of officers and committees for the Seven Arts Playhouse, and scripts for plays likely written by Ted for the playhouse.
Other correspondence in the file includes correspondence from Octavia Beaton to Mary Beaton and Ted's correspondence with Mary, Annie Louise Taylor, Kate Cooley Taylor and L.D. Taylor. Correspondence between Ted and L.D. discusses Ted and Ken's careers and L.D.'s activities for the previous twelve years, including his ownership and loss of "The World," his attempts to become Mayor of Vancouver in 1922 and 1923, his year living in Prince George and his return to Vancouver and establishment of "The Critic" and the "Vancouver Oil and Mining Journal." Other records pertaining to L.D. include three photographs of him (CVA 1477-1213 to 1215) and a portion of "The Evening Sun," formerly "The World."

File contains Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence, including correspondence with colleagues and friends, including actress Louise Fazenda, Ferdinand Earle and Howard Strickling, letters congratulating him on his new position as the Western representative of the New York Morning Telegraph and letters of introduction for his arrival in Paris. Also included is a list of preferred and unfavorable individuals and studios from the New York Morning Telegraph. The file also contains correspondence from the Seven Arts Playhouse regarding Ted's play "Grand Guignol" and his chairmanship of the Playhouse's Dramatic Writing Group, a newspaper clipping concerning his play "The Butcher's," and a program for the Playhouses' successor, The Garret Club.
Also included in the file is Ted's correspondence with Ken Taylor, Annie Louise Taylor, Caroline Little Pierce and L.D. Taylor. Letters from L.D. discuss his acitivities as Mayor of Vancouver and the visit of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
