London Paper Sold on Wall Street 2 Days After Publication

Item is a photograph of a newspaper vendor selling an "Evening Standard". Photograph is annotated " London Paper sold on Wall St., 2 days after publication, New York, N.Y.. For the first time in history the London Evening Standard is sold on Wall St., in the heart of New York's financial district, but two days after it first appeared for sale in London. A batch of the newspapers were part of the half-ton of cargo flown here aboard the Mercury, Imperial Airways pick-aback plane, which flew from Foynes, Ireland, to Port Washington, N.Y., in 25 hours and 7 minutes. This particular copy is a July 19th edition, and was on sale in Wall St., 7:p.m., July 21.
