Item is a photograph. Notes written on the back include: " Alexander Mitchell residence on Mitchell Island, Richmond, B.C., in the Greater Vancouver area. My grandfather, Alexander Mitchell, was born at North Wakefield, Que., in 1847 and went to B.C. in the 1870's, pioneering in lumbering and farming. This house, built in typical ottawa valley style, was my mother's girlhood home. It was built about 1885 and burned about 1925. Alexander Mitchell died on the Island in 1931. Wessie M. Lamb"
