The tape begins with Bill Monroe delivering a speech and then shows various dance sequences, footage of association members preparing for performances and a group touring sites around Vancouver.

Make Magic 2001

Item is a videocassette showing edited footage recorded at Make Magic, the 18th Annual IAGSDC [International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs] Convention at the Westin Bayshore Hotel and Resort, Vancouver from April 12 to 15, 2001. The video begins with an intro showing Vancouver nature and cityscapes, and general conference scenes with music by the Vancouver Men's Chorus. The intro is followed by a list of all participating clubs and callers and then a speech by Bill Monroe. The next portion of the video is a dance by Squares Across the Borders to "Heroes are Just the Same" called by Anne Uebelacker. The footage continues to show scenes from the conference including square dancing at the hotel with callers Todd Fellegy, Steve Edlund, Tom Miller, Ray Brendzy, and Anne Uebelacker; HTQ 2001 hosted by Ucanleime Amy and Virginia Hamm; banquet highlights featuring Bill Monroe and Miss Betsy Gotta receiving the Golden Boot Award; and the Magical Mystery Tour (escorted by the Vancouver City Police Motorcycle Drill team) dancing at Ceperly Park, Vanier Park, Spanish Banks, Queen Elizabeth Park and Library Square; and concluding with scenes from the closing ceremonies.

Hookers on Davie

Item is a videocassette containing a recording of a documentary entitled 'Hookers on Davie'. The film contains footage showing sex workers working in the West End, organizing and protesting. The documentary includes interviews with sex workers and others including Ricky, Joey, Michelle, Michelle's mother, Tiffany, Bev, and members of ASP (Association for the Safety of Prostitutes). Film is shot in the West End, and includes footage from inside the Columbia Inn.

The documentary traces the history of LGBTQ life in Vancouver and shows demonstrations, businesses, legal frameworks, community leaders, night life, AIDS/HIV, activism, neighbourhoods and celebrations. The video contains interviews and archival footage of Bill Richardson, Margo Dunn, Ellen Woodsworth, Esther Phillips, Jamie Lee Hamilton, Rob Joyce, Don Hann, Maurice Flood, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Sarah Davidson, Mary-Woo Sims, Heather Kitching, Jim Deva, Svend Robinson, Tim Stevenson, Ted Northe, Gordon Price, Janine Fuller, Gareth Kirby, Angus Praught, Dennis Dahl, Garry Penny, Jane Rule, Nym Hughes, Libby Davies. Item is a videocassette containing the documentary entitled "Little Sister's vs/ Big Brother", written and directed by Aerlyn Weissman. The film explores the history and mandate of Little Sister's Bookstore and traces the legal battle and court case against the Canada Border Services Agency. The court case centered around censorship, the labelling of books as 'obscene' by Customs Canada and the denial of their entry into Canada. The film includes footage of and interviews with Jim Deva. Made in Secret : The Story of the East Van Porn Collective

Item is a videocassette containing the documentary entitled "Made in Secret" featuring the East Van Porn Collective. The East Van Porn Collective is made up of the following members who appear in the film: Muffy LaRue, Hugh Jorgen, nerdgirl, J.D. Superstar, Monster, Mr. Pants, Professor University and Godfrey. The film includes footage shot from 1998 through 2004 and features meetings of the collective, screening parties, and filming of collective films showing the processes, mandate, work and history of the collective.

HIV in the Workplace
