[Page 8 is missing.] The Canadian Memorial Church, designed by the firm of Twizell and Twizell, was built in 1927-1928 at 1811 West 16th Avenue in memory of those who died in World War I.
The collection consists of a letter dated 21 March 1911 from the Mayor's secretary to Walter Erwin, requesting his attendance at City Council's meeting to receive a Long Service medal; the address, dated 27 March 1911, was signed and delivered by Louis D. Taylor on behalf of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries, at the presentation of the medal.

Petition for [a] Bill to Incorporate the "City of Vancouver"
The item is the original petition addressed to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia asking that the village of Granville be incorporated as the City of Vancouver. There are also accompanying extracts from the Legislative Journal relating to the passage of the Act.

The collection consists of a portion of "Account of a trip taken by Owen Livingstone, 20 June to 11 August, 1946". The portion covers 27 June to 24 July. Owen Livingstone was a relative of J.R. Morgan, who travelled through B.C. to the Queen Charlotte logging camp of J.R. Morgan.
The collection consists of "A Century in Western Canada", a family history of the Izen, Katz, Koenigsberg and related families, by Michael Levenston. The Izen family moved to Vancouver in 1888 and after great struggles opened a fruit store on Canada Street. Etta Izen married Maurice Koenigsberg. There are several descendants living in the Vancouver area.
McNair-Fraser Lumber Company collection
The collection consists of a manuscript containing a history of the McNair-Fraser Lumber Company, Vancouver, by David M. Rees-Thomas. In 1906, the McNair Timber Company was incorporated in Vancouver. The timber limits were located in what is now the British Properties of West Vancouver. In 1907, a logging railway was begun by the company and during the same year a partnership was entered into with Russell L. Fraser and the new corporation was known as the McNair-Fraser Lumber Company Ltd. By 1918, the company was out of existence. Robert McNair continued to work in the industry as president of Robert McNair Shingle Company Ltd.
The manuscript is a study of prostitution in Vancouver using primarily the Police Court calendars and Board of Health minutes.

Letter from J.S. Matthews to Mary Hankey
Item is a letter thanking Ms. Hankey for a donation to the Archives of records pertaining to the Empress of India. The letter contains Matthew's reminiscences about passenger vessels in British Columbia. Accompanying the letter is a photograph of the Empress of India (a reprint of Bo P8 N20).
The collection consists of an incomplete letter written to "Fanny" by an unidentified correspondent from New Westminster, 11 May 1883, describing May Day and a picnic. (The original pencil has been written over ca. 1940 by the donor.)
