Photograph shows the unit block of Cordova Street looking west from Carrall to Cambie with business enterprises: on the right the Boulder Saloon and George Lawson Allan, Boots & Shoes and on the left Dunn & Co., Hardware with the Knights of Pythias Hall on the upper level. The foreground shows the Vancouver electric street car travelling west and in the background a horse-drawn carriage travelling east.

Item is a leather bound and painted photo album containing 51 portraits in carte de visite and cabinet card format, with occasional light hand colouring. The people depicted in the album are unidentified with the exception of one photograph of W.J. Bowser, LL.B. Most of the portraits are of adults, with only a few of babies. The photographs are from several different countries as photographer's markings from Saint John (N.B.), Moncton (N.B.), Vancouver (B.C.), Boston (Mass.), and Liverpool (England) are visible on some of the cards.
