The curse of the lost [gold] mine - tape 315

Item is a copy of original film shot for the docudrama "Curse of the lost gold mine." Includes scenes of men with packs being taken by helicopter to a mountain area and left there. Scenes of three people [including Dick Hamilton who is involved in both the 1970s and 1990s efforts to make this film] hiking through beautiful nature areas and setting up camp. The men look at a map together, cook food, explore a cave, and spend some time hiking on a glacier and exploring formations and cracks.

Item is a video with a behind-the-scenes video titled "The making of Barclay personal taste," which shows the making of a Barclays commercial, as well as samples, of different lengths, of commercials made for Barclays. Features various sets, setting up sets, shots of downtown Vancouver and inside the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch, actors and film crews. Video also includes a making of video for the commercial "Manifesto 2002 Caritas Brunnen" and samples of a German and English version of the finished commercial. Features a model of a mouth. "Manifesto Films August 2002 making of CableCom in Vancouver" gives a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a commercial for CableCom. In addition to the completed CableCom commercial video includes other Manifesto Films commercials; a Panasonic commercial, a Cheveron commercial for Orthene Fire Ant Killer, a Fox commercial for the Emmy Awards, two Kinder Bueno commercials, and a Hero FruitKiss commercial.

Item is a one hour television network documentary featuring Canada's military parachute team, the Sky Hawks. produced in cooperation with the Department of National Defense Canada. Written by Richard Tomkies; produced and directed by Michael Collier; editor Jane Morrison; and music Bruce Ruddell. The documentary follows the Sky hawks team through selection and training, their missions and goals and performances and other outreach activities the team performs as part of being a Sky hawk. This is the cassette version, 47 minutes. Nov. 1992.

Item is raw footage shot for a one hour television network documentary featuring Canada's military parachute team, the Sky hawks. Includes footage of men preparing to parachute out of an airplane, checking each other's equipment, and jumping out of the airplane. Audio recorded inside the airplane is dominated by airplane noise, some break-up. Also includes footage from the ground of an airplane taking off and landing, Sky hawks parachuting to the ground, performing the bomb burst, and landing. An interview with John regarding the Sky Hawks performance schedule, how it is planned each each year, and the general make-up of the team and how it is formed, and how team members are selected. Item is raw footage shot for a one hour television network documentary featuring Canada's military parachute team, the Sky hawks. Primarily the aerial footage (shot by a fellow sky-diver) captures the sky diving and parachuting performances of the Sky hawks. Some of the aerial footage was shot at Royal Rhodes Military College. Other locations have not been identifed. Additional footage is included that was shot on the ground of a Sky hawks team breifing with Pierre (shot from several angles), and the men getting dressed for a show and checking each others' parachutes and equipment, airplanes taxing, the Sky hawks team practicing thier show on the ground 'dirt dive,' the men chatting near the airplane, and the Sky hawks team entering the airplane. Item is raw footage shot for a one hour television network documentary featuring Canada's military parachute team, the Sky hawks. Includes footage of the Sky hawks jumping out of an airplane, performing sky diving maneuvers, and parachuting, some trick parachute maneuvers are performed, also includes footage of a Sky hawk administrator/clerk sky diving for the first time. Footage on this tape was captured inside the plane and alongside the Sky hawks attached to the helmet of a fellow sky diver. For the most part the audio is dominated by wind and aircraft noise. Item is "Everest - Climb for Hope" footage transferred from original 16mm camera film footage. Includes footage of yaks carrying packs and supplies for the "Everest Climb for Hope" team. Team members hike beside the yaks. Scenes of base camp, sherpas, a satellite dish, laundry hanging to dry, tents and tents covered in snow. Includes a scene of Peter cooking and enjoying smoking a pipe, prayer flags, men relaxing and doing thing around the camp including looking through a telescope, sorting equipment, packing, bread being prepared in the communal tent at base camp, snow being melted using a small stove hanging in someone's tent, a man attaching crampons to his boots, men hiking out of base camp through the snow with packs, anchoring spikes into the ice and snow and attaching ropes and carabiners, performing a rescue, or perhaps practicing a rescue [?], early morning hiking, mountain views, snow blowing off the mountain, interviews with Everest - Climb for Hope team members (silent), and a truck of supplies driving and getting unstuck on a very rough road near a river.

Item is raw sound for the documentary "Everest - Climb for Hope." Includes Alan talking about the problems encountered with generators. Some goofing around talking in accents from Eastern Canada. The importance of electrical power and the various uses that the power is necessary for. Andre talks about the yaks and logistics involved in using and budgeting for yaks and negotiating with locals. He also talks about difficulties in dealing with the Chinese liaison officer and the budget in general. Andre also talks about dealing through the CMA [Chinese Mountaineering Association?]. John talks about his symptoms and how he dealt with suffering from some initial symptoms of high altitude pulmonary edema. Also includes wild sound for camera role 46 and 44 or 45. Includes sounds of crampons on ice, ice picks, other tools going into the ice and the sound of clipping carabineers on to ropes, and ambient outdoor sounds of a wheat field and airport.

Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Video contains interviews with team members at a time near the end of the expedition. And one interview with an expedition Sherpa. Video contains camp ambiance, packing up and clean-up. Sherpas sort through food left-over and supplies after the expedition. The video ends with a party and a food fight.

Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Ambient noise. Video contains footage of a fire built to burn garbage and the team's trip to [out of] base camp. On the way the truck gets stuck and is dug out; the truck also stops and the team interacts with some local farmers.

Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Includes footage of team members building a sled for use in the rescue of Tim (because Tim has an injured knee), men around the camp working and interacting, Ross on the radio discussing the details of the rescue of Tim with John, Mario, and the rest of the team up on the North Col., views from camp and of the North Col., team members in the communal tent making plans, night scenes of tents, supplies, and men with flashlights and packs heading out, preparing for the rescue of Tim, some footage of some of the rescue efforts, the successful arrival back at advanced base camp, the medical examination of Tim's knee at the advanced base camp, Tim talks a little to the camera after the examination and worries about not being able to ski again or take on his new job, the doctor reassures him that is is likely he will heal. Alan and Peter making a crutch for Tim out of tent pegs, foam, duct tape, wire, and a ski pole; Tim tries out the crutches and the team members goof around.

Includes shots (hand-held, no tripod) taken at advanced base camp of Dennis returning from the North Col., some discussion of a cracked rib [Hilda's?], Dennis packing a pack and leaving advanced base camp with Hilda for base camp, a shot of climbing ropes and supplies, the communal tent with team members and Sherpas, Jamie unpacking and starting up the generator, Jamie repairing and trying to fix the generator, Alan interviews Mario, who is from Quebec, about how it was that he joined the team and about the expedition specifically and in general, there is also an interview with a Sherpa about his career, this expedition, and previous expeditions, there is also a second interview with a Sherpa who talks about the wind and previous expeditions he has been on.
