Formerly the flotsam was burned on the beach, but this practice was stopped to avoid air pollution. Now, the harbor master is waiting word from Ottawa as to how the mass of debris is to be removed."

Caption from Vancouver Express: "Already taking shape at North Vancouver plant of International Hydrodynamics is deep-diving submersible which has been purchased by Maritime Command of Canadian Armed Forces. This is fourth of Pisces-class vessels to be built by Hyco and they allow divers to work at depths up to 1,000 feet. This submersible will carry five men and is scheduled to be delivered to Maritime Command for trials in August."
