Series consists of correspondence of the Society and its predecessor, the Western Chapter of the Sculptors' Society of Canada, membership lists of the Sculptors' Society of Canada (1968-1972), minutes, newsletters and a variety of records associated with particular exhibition projects. Item is an amateur film documenting the 1975 Vancouver International Stone Symposium at VanDusen Gardens. The film contains footage of opening day set up, stones being worked on with hand and electric tools and a diamond saw, the Rubin Landers' Jazz Group playing on an earthen mound, and crowds viewing the artists at work. Artists believed to be featured include Wolfgang Kubach, Maria Kubach-Wilmsen, Michael Prentice.

Item is a recording of three different advertisements for City Shapes, the Vancouver Centennial Sculpture Symposium, 1986. The first two shorter advertisements include images of smaller sculptures while a voice over narrator talks about the sculpture symposium. The final longer advertisement includes aerial footage and an expanded discussion of Vancouver history and sculpture in addition to the same images of smaller sculptures and exposition about the sculpture symposium.

Series consists of finalists' proposal packages, as well as the Society's records pertaining to each artist and his or her corresponding sculpture. These files provide some preliminary biographical data on the artists' lives to 1986. The proposals include colour transparencies of artists' previous sculptures and other supporting material. Other records in the series include correspondence between the artist and the Society and the City, in some files technical drawings, development and building permits, black and white photographs of the maquettes, and in some instances photographs of the artists at work. Those photographs taken in conjunction with the Symposium are by K.E. Ohrn. Arrangement is alphabetical by artists' names.

Series consists of mainly photocopies of incoming and outgoing correspondence documenting the recruitment of prominent individuals outside the Society for a variety of committees, correspondence with the artists and public relations activity. Society correspondents include: Don Fisher, Funding Director; Stefan Bugil, Executive Director; Stanley Dzuba, Chairman, Jury Committee; B. Joyce McDonald, President; Anne Macdonald, Funding Consultant; and James M. Pavich, Project Manager. Other records include duplicates of minutes and press releases. Although the records are almost exclusively concerned with the City Shapes project they document all functions of the Society. Arrangement is chronological.
