3480 East Marine Drive property

File consists of records relating to the 3480 East Marine Drive property owned by J.S. Matthews. Includes correspondence, receipts, a large map of the property lot, an indentuer signing the property over to Florence Vera Matthews, and papers concerning old leases on the property during the 1930s to Chinese tenants.

CPR buildings, bridges, dock and boats

File contains photographs of the first Hotel Vancouver, the CPR station, Empress of Japan, S.S. Beaver wrecked on the rocks at Stanley Park, views of Stanley Park, and scenes of the Capilano River and dam. File also includes a small number of photographs of Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington State.

File is four pages from an album containing photographs of the Leamy and Kyle Sawmill, logging camps, C.P.R. locomotive "Old Curly" and Deadmans Island

Construction of hospitals and Shannon residence

File is album of photgraphs of Essondale Hospital and Vancouver T.B. Hospital, including progress photographs of their construction. Album also includes some photographs of Shannon residence (at 7101-7201 Granville Street, originally owned by the Rogers family, then the Taylor family) and of the Motor Vehicle Testing building on Georgia Street.

Kitsilano (District Lot 540), 1907

File is an album containing photographs of Kitsilano and the Quiney family who moved there from Winnipeg in 1907. The inside title page of the album reads "illustrating the disappearance of the forest west of Trafalgar street, the western boundary of the Canadian Pacific Railway land grant (D.L. 526), and the development of an area, called District Lot 540, into a residential suburb of Vancouver known as Kitsilano." Album also contains some photographic copies of textual records pertaining to the Quiney family history and two photographic copies of paintings. Other photographs in the album include various scenes in and around Vancouver including General Baden Powell at Hastings Park, the Komagata Maru, the Richmond rifle range, an air field and military ship convoy during WWI.

File consists of a sheet of blank letterhead stationary and 2 copies (one annotated, one not) of a published map titled Perspective of Greater Vancouver from Grouse Mountain, ca. 1925.

Mayor McGeer

Includes photograph of Mayor Gerry McGeer reading the riot act at Victory Square, April 23, 1935, to disperse demonstrators involved in the sit down strike of 1935.
