Rededication, Stanley Park, 1943

Album contains photographs of the rededication ceremony in 1943, copy photographs of the original dedication of the park in 1889 and early scenes of Stanley Park. Album was dedicated to Lord Derby, son of Lord Stanley, and includes Lord Derby's invitation to the ceremony as well as Major Matthews' notes with the photographs.

Pioneer Place design

Item is a photograph of an artist's conception for the design of Pioneer Place. Notes written on the back include: "see draft letter from JSM to Mr. Fraine Nov. 23, 1960 and to JSM from A M Fraser Nov. 30, 1960" and "Received from Superintendent Park Board, Vancouver, Nov. 18th, JS Matthews, City Archivist" and "On Dec. 31 1916 [1961?], P. B. Stroyan told me this work had been partially completed. That it was a Park Board official's design. What would be the use of my trying to compose an inscription for a tablet at this late date. JS Matthews"
