Over a quarter million people attend this amateur show and over 2,500 entertainers volunteer their services each season. From early June to late August, this great little show goes on nearly every evening from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. midst beautiful surroundings. You are cordially invited to attend the Kitsilano Showboat at Kitsilano Beach. Drive south on Burrard Street across the bridge turn right, 4 blocks to free parking. Mon., Wed., Fri. at 8:00 p.m. different show each night."

Mother of Irene Lawrence. This picture taken on the beach at English Bay, Vancouver in 1912. Notice the old bath houses, the long pier (on the left) leading to the popular dance floor. The building under construction in the background is the Sylvia Hotel. The management of the Sylvia Hotel was so intrigued with this post card picture that they borrowed it and had it blown up, quite large, and the finished pictures are hanging in several areas of the hotel."
