Hudson Bay Company store, Granville and Georgia

Item is a photograph of the Hudson Bay Company's on Granville and Georgia taken on March 26, 1926, the day before the old corner unit it was to be demolished. The connections between the three additions to the store, at Georgia and Seymour, on Seymour and on Granville Street are visible. The Granville Street extention is nearing completion. The photograph was taken from the south-west.

Item is a photograph of Granville Street at night, looking southwest down Granville street. In the foreground the neon signage for the Castle Hotel (760 Granville Street) and Palm Ice Cream are clearly visible. The neon signage further down Granville Street is less clear, but the signs for the Capital Theatre (820 Granville Street) and the Orpheum theatre (884 Granville Street) are still distinguishable.

File consists of photographs taken by Cuthbert of streets and buildings in Vancouver's downtown core, the collapse of the Second Narrows Bridge, and exterior views of the former F. Ronald Graham home, 1955-1958, 1967, 1971; as well as photographs collected by Cuthbert including the Burrard Bridge, 1932, group portrait of the Southlands Riding Club for which Cuthbert and his father, Robert G. Cuthbert, were members, 1945, and the the site of his father's veterinary practice at different locations on West 4th Avenue, 1925 - ca. 1964.
