Series is a commercial survey of the physical, commercial and social conditions of the Vancouver area to determine its needs for telephone services from 1929 to 1950. Series includes estimates on the population of the Vancouver area in 1950, distribution of the population, probable requirements and grades of telephone services, and the approximate locations of such requirements from 1929 to 1950.

Engineers' field books

Series consists of technical data and drawings relating to the field works and cable surveys conducted by the company's engineers in various regions in the province of British Columbia. Series includes field books numbered from 0 to 184; 2 books are numbered 17 ; books missing from sequence are 39, 71, 120, 121, 122, 123, 140 ; 2 un-numbered books are indicated as Fort St. John, 1 un-numbered is indicated as Coal Harbor to Cape Scott, and 1 un-numbered and unbound is indicated as Hudson Hope.

Financial records of various telephone companies

Series consists of records relating to the revenues and expenditures of the British Columbia Telephone Company and its predecessor bodies. Names of the companies' customers are also included in the series. Series consists of records relating to the company's administration. Series includes logbooks recording the day-to-day operations of the Yukon Telegraph Operator. Series also includes inventory and appraisal journals of the company's plants throughout the province of British Columbia. These journals list the estimated value on each plant's properties, and the estimated labour cost on each plant's operations.

Series consists of records created by the B.C. Telephone Company Archives to cover the history of the company and the telephone business generally in British Columbia in 1870-1920, 1922-39. Series includes the main narrative, the chronological summary, the alphabetical index, and specially groupings of information. Series is arranged by years.
