Hubbard Construction and Chimney Company was founded about 1930 by Isaac Hubert Hubbard, a steelworker and steeplejack. The company was involved in the construction and demolition of smoke stacks and burners. Hubbard designed and patented the spark arrester, a feature he used in the building of burners.

The fonds consists of blueprints for the spark arrester and some construction work carried out by Hubbard; a patent for the spark arrester, 1940; letters of reference from companies who had engaged in Hubbard's company; and photographs depicting construction of various projects.
