Biographical history
Giovanni Grippo was born in Pietragalla, Italy in 1887, and immigrated to Canada in 1920, arriving in New York, U.S.A, on July 10, and Bridgeburg, Ont. July 11. Giovanni eventually settled in Vancouver where he lived at 1374 Gravely St., and worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1952. Giovanni's son Theodore celebrated his marriage with Nunzia (Nancy) Rago at Sacred Heart Church in Vancouver on September 28, 1930, and was granted Canadian Citizenship on June 11, 1948.

Fonds consists mainly of official documents relating to the immigration and citizenship status of Giovanni Grippo and his son Theodore. Document types include immigration and naturalization documents, citizenship papers, one Italian passport, marriage certificates, and correspondence relating to company service and retirement benefits. Fonds also include photographs and two religious prints.

Many documents in this fonds are torn and/or worn along folds, folded along edges, and quite dirty.

Papers donated by Stephen O'Neill, for Molnar Capital Corporation, who have purchased the former Grippo family home at 1374 Gravely St.
