Name of creator
The B.C. Weavers' Guild was founded in 1935. The name changed in 1940 to the B.C. Weavers' and Spinners' Guild and changed again to the Greater Vancouver Weavers' and Spinners' Guild in 1974. The Guild is active in promoting the crafts of weaving and spinning, sponsoring exhibitions, sales, and workshops throughout the year.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of scrapbooks, newsletters, minutes of executive and general meetings, special papers, photographs, and other ephemera.
Immediate source of acquisition
Donated by Doris Crookall on behalf of the GVWSG in April, 1995, with additional material received in 1986, 1991, 1994, and 1996, by Maria Lunow. Further accruals were received in 2006, 2008, and 2012.
