The Environmental Health Division is responsible for pest and noise control, food management, housing and lodging house inspection, and water and air pollution monitoring.

Scope and content
Series consists of two albums. The first album contains 113 photographs of interior and exterior views of condemned buildings, smallpox patients, and views of areas in Vancouver with sewerage drainage problems; and newspaper articles related to sanitation and public health issues. The second album contains 49 photographs of interior and exterior views of condemned buildings, and views of water impounded due to blockages in sewers drainage system. Originally arranged in two albums. For conservation reasons, the albums have been dismantled, and newspaper clippings removed. A photocopy of each album records the original arrangement.
