Biographical history

Edmund Spillman was a pioneer painter and decorator in Vancouver who arrived here in 1890 or 1891. His decorating firm functioned as late as 1917.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of an account, tender and specifications book, 1892-1895, for work done and proposed in various buildings, including the First Presbyterian Church, the Hudson's Bay Company Store, the Bank of B.N.A., the Garden Residence, St. Charles Hotel, Hotel Vancouver, Court House and the YMCA.
