Administrative history

Dominion Day Celebrations were held in Vancouver each July 1st and 2nd, with a committee composed of interested citizens, including the Mayor as chairman, organizing the celebration. George Bartley (1867-1943) at times served as Secretary of the committee.

Custodial history

Scope and content

The fonds contains four volumes of minutes of the Dominion Day Celebration Committee, 1890-1900; included with the minutes are financial statements, reports of the sub-committees, and programme discussions. Relevant clippings are also attached throughout the volumes. The fonds also includes invitations (1887, 1888), programmes (1887-1904), a statement of account held with the Empire Wine Company (1887), and a bank book (1904).
