History

Commonwealth Construction was founded in 1925 under the name Carter-Halls-Aldinger Construction, a general contracting firm based in Vancouver, B.C. In 1945, the company changed its name to (or was acquired by) Commonwealth Construction Company. The firm was involved in projects in Victoria, BC and Winnipeg, MB, as well as Vancouver.

In 1983, the company became inactive; in 1985 it was amalgamated into a numbered company which itself was discontinued in 2000.
