Administrative history
The Canadian Pacific Navigation Company was organized in 1883 by Capt. John Irving of New Westminster. The company conducted passenger and freight steamship service on the Lower Fraser River (New Westminster to Yale) and between New Westminster, Vancouver and Vancouver Island points. Its river service was destroyed by the coming of the railways, and in 1901 all the company ships were sold to the CPR.
