History

Campbell Studios Ltd. was a commercial photographic studio operating in Vancouver, B.C.

The firm was founded by photographer William J. Campbell (1886-1958), under the name Campbell's Studios Ltd. He was joined in the company by his son, John S. Campbell (1919-2004) in 1945 or 1946, with William Campbell as President and John Campbell as Manager. It is not possible to tell if either man worked on the firm's commissions, or the firm employed staff photographers, particularly after the death of William Campbell.

This arrangement continued until William Campbell's death in 1958. John S. Campbell became President and he continued in that role until 1985 or 1986. At that time, J.D. Kyle is listed as President. It is not known if the firm was sold to Kyle, or Campbell retained ownership of it. The firm was still in operation in 1996, under the management of Sun Kim.
