Description on tape case: "Rajni Kothari is a well known civil libertarian in India and president of the Peoples' Union of Civil Liberties. In 1985 he won the Alternative Nobel Prize from the Swedish government. He is on the board of Lokayan, a publication devoted to grass roots action and social justice; here, he gives a lecture on the topic of human rights in India and the problem of centralization."
