Item is a promotional film for the city of Vancouver. It features several aerial views of the city and highlights the many activities available to enjoy in or near the city. Film also shows the Expo 86 site under construction. Vancouver airport opening

Item consists of a motion picture film containing Fox Movietone Newsreel footage of the opening of the Sea Island airport in Vancouver. The footage begins with a man prop-starting a small plane. Some shots of a group of men standing next to the plane are followed by the plane taxiing on the runway (VH-UPS on the side). Another shot of the same group of men [possibly including Mayor L.D. Taylor?] is followed by a cockpit shot of the pilot in the plane. Shots of the hanger and terminal building are followed by an unidentified speaker addressing the audience with a microphone and a brass band behind him.

Item is a documentary film documenting Vancouver street scenes and cityscapes as well as a variety of industrial activities. This films contains colour footage of a sea plane, mills and mining, shipbuilding, steel making, as well as Vancouver street scenes with people around Dunsmuir St. and the Georgia Hotel. The black and white portions of this film contain footage of Vancouver beach scenes.

Footage features scenes of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre, Coal Harbour, airplanes featuring the Expo 86 logo on the tail end, a few panning shots and some wide shots from the south side of False Creek of the entire Expo 86 grounds partially constructed and the partially completed Cambie Street bridge. Item is a photograph showing six men in front of an airplane at the Western Canada annual air show. Note under title written by Major Matthews: "Left to right: Joseph (Indian name Splahk-tum) from Tswassen, also spelt Che-woet-sun. (Ladner). 2. A school boy; son of Chief Jack Stogan. 3. Chief Jack Stogan, Indian name Semilano, of Musqueam, 4. Chief Moses Joseph, of Ustlawn, North Vancouver. 5. Chief Jimmy Jimmy, Indian name Swahsh, about 80, of Kowtain (A.J. Khatsahlano calls it Showsham). 6. Councillor Stanley Joseph, brother of Chief Moses. The Indians were invited to greet some "first" aeroplane; afterwards went up in it, flew above Vancouver, etc. Being in radiophone contact with ground, Indians were asked to comment as they passed over familiar places, to listeners of air pagaent. Chief Jimmy Jimmy commented most."
