Biographical history
Thomas H. Mawson was an English landscape architect, born May 5, 1861, in Scorton, England. He was an important and influential theorist and taught landscape architecture at Liverpool University. He travelled throughout North America on a speaking tour and was given several commissions. In Vancouver, he offered designs for the reclamation of Coal Harbour and some work in Stanley Park.
Thomas H. Mawson & Sons had a Vancouver office and was represented by John W. Mawson. The office was located in the Rogers Building in 1914.
He died November 14, 1914.

Item is a site plan, depicting a proposed development of the eastern portion of Stanley Park at Coal Harbour. The drawing depicts trails, two playgrounds, a restaurant, a museum, a stadium and a rowing club.
