General note
The idea for Star yachts started on Long Island Sound; of the 455 yachts listed in 1927, several were based in Vancouver (beginning in 1923 with Corona, Astrea, Stella Maris, and Centaur).
General note
"The Star was an adaptation of the Bug design on a larger scale made by Wm. Gardner at the instigation of G.A. Corry . . . its purpose was to provide men of small means with competition in a real racing yacht they could afford . . . ".
General note
Includes "1927 official register of Star yachts".
