Biographical history

The Uneeda Branch of the Young Women's Christian Temperance Union was established about 1929. "Young" disappeared from the title of the branch around 1946, when a group of younger members were formed into the "Warriors". The Women's Christian Temperance Union campaigned against the use of alcohol and called public attention to the prevalence and social and economic consequences of substance abuse.

Custodial history

Scope and content

The fonds consists of a letter to Mrs. S.H. Brown (1902), minute books, financial records and clipping books. The clipping books contain mainly newspaper clippings but also include some other items, such as membership directories, convention programs, stickers and photographs. Most of the books are also annotated with hand-written quotations and comments.
