History
Warnett Kennedy was born on March 23, 1911, in Glasgow, Scotland. He received his career education at the Glasgow School of Architecture, and settled in Canada in 1952. In Vancouver, he ran an architectural and town planning consulting firm. He was appointed to the National Capital Commission in 1966, and was an active member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. Kennedy worked as a Non-Partisan Association (N.P.A.) alderman from 1974 to 1984, when he left to do design work for Expo '86. During his tenure as alderman, Kennedy was most active as a member of the Standing Committees on Transportation and Planning and Development.
