The Burrard Literary Club was an early Vancouver debating and public speaking club. Meetings and debates were held once a week, and were conducted according to parliamentary rules.

The fonds consists of records created and received by the Burrard Literary Club. Records include the club's constitution, membership lists, correspondence, receipts, and minutes of meetings. Minutes list topics of debate, including: women's suffrage, Asian labour in Canada, socialism, phrenology, capital punishment, local political and economic issues, and other topics.
