History
The British Columbia Sugar Refining Company (Alberta) Limited was a wholly-owned subsidiary of BC Sugar. The Alberta company was created to allow BC Sugar to have distribution operations in the province, while complying with Alberta's Companies Act. The Alberta distribution subsidiary was incorporated in 1921 and listed on the province's registry of companies. In 1934, the company was struck from the province's registry of companies, but continued to operate until at least 1970.
The company acted as the wholesaler and distributor of BC Sugar products in the province, operating depots and small offices in Edmonton and Calgary.
