Biographical history

Amy Leigh was a social worker in Vancouver who was Commandant of the Women's Ambulance Corps, Vancouver Unit, during the Second World War. Ms. Leigh later became Director of the City of Vancouver's Social Services Department and then Assistant Director of the provincial Social Welfare Department. She died in September, 2001.

Scope and content

Fonds contains records pertaining to the Women's Ambulance Corps, including photographs, issues of the Corps' newsletter, newsclippings and a WAC broach. Fonds also includes an album of photographs taken on a trail ride to Tweedsmuir Park in 1938, two photographs of Stanley Park (1921), biographical information on Amy Leigh, and other materials.
