Administrative history
The Canadian Women's Press Club was formed in 1904 to promote journalism as a profession for women, "Canadian National sentiment" in publications, and higher standards of writing in newspapers. A Vancouver Chapter of the Club was organized in 1909.

Scope and content
The fonds contains the Club's constitution, membership lists, minute books, correspondence, triennial reports and publications. There are also six scrapbooks 1912-1927 (volume 2), 1930-1969 (volumes 3-7) which contain reports, photographs, profiles of members, and accounts and souvenirs of the club's activities.
