Joseph Brown arrived in Vancouver in 1898 and constructed greenhouses. His firm, Brown Brother's Company Limited, was incorporated in 1905, as a florist and nursery business. The firm was sold in 1966 to Planters Holding, Limited.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of undated notes for the care and management of flowers, thank-you letters (1932), and various certificates for floral displays (1928-1936). Fonds also consists of photographs of the florist company depicting greenhouses, floral displays, and storefronts.
