The British Columbia Centennial Committee was created by the B.C. government in 1956 to organize the celebrations of the centenary of the establishment of the mainland Colony of British Columbia. The Committee ceased operation in 1961.

The fonds consists of correspondence regarding the visit of H.R.H. Princess Margaret; correspondence and lists relating to pioneers; organizing correspondence for the visit of "The Navies of the World" and for ski jumping; certificates of incorporation of the Committee; correspondence relating to the Centennial Museum and St. Roch project and to the dedication of the Centennial Totem; sound recordings of the B.C. Centennial Searchlight Tattoo; and examples of the publicity material published by the Centennial Committee.
