Administrative history

The B.C. Plate Glass and Importing Company began operations in 1904. Among the first directors were A.P. Bogardus and Charles Bloomfield. In 1910, the company name was changed to Bogardus, Wickens, and Begg. When F.R. Begg left the company, the firm became Bogardus-Wickens, Ltd. Eventually, Bogardus and Roy Wilson bought Wickens out, and the firm became Bogardus Wilson Limited in 1950. The firm was locally controlled and operated until the late 1960s and as of 1976 a wholly owned subsidiary of Libby Owens, a large American glass firm.
