Biographical history
Adrien Mansvelt, while Consul General for the Netherlands in Vancouver, collected genealogical information on Captain George Vancouver, the City of Coevorden and the van Coeverden family, showing Captain Vancouver's link with the Dutch city of Coevorden.

The collection consists of a letter sent by Adrien Mansvelt to Mayor Phillips on 9 March 1973, enclosing a photograph of the Mayor and Aldermen of Coevorden in 1972, and a pamphlet "documentation on establishing of industry in Coevorden"; two typescript articles, "Vancouver a lost branch of the van Coevorden family" and "The Vancouver Ancestry"; and "Genealogy of the van Coevorden family" (in Dutch) by Captain C.J. Polvliet, 1883.
